I have been a patient at this practice since it opened and used to rave about how good it was with very friendly staff and extremely good doctors.
It has gone downhill so badly and it’s now virtually impossible to get an appointment less than one month in advance & trying to call on the day for an ‘urgent appointment’ is a total waste of time as it takes so long to get through on the phone, either because it is constantly engaged &/or they keep you on hold for so long before answering that all appointments will have gone!
Some of the new staff who you have the misfortune to deal with regarding appointments are unbelievably rude & hostile. The very notion that they might actually be employed to help you, the patient is clearly lost on them.
Some of the girls are lovely but sadly that has now become the rare exception rather than the rule & my family & I are going elsewhere as this place is a disgrace with not enough doctors and appallingly rude ancillary staff.
I have been with this surgery since it opened it used to be wonderful staff use to be lovely now it's an absolute nightmare and staff some of them need to learn manners because if patients were as rude to the staff as some of the staff are to patients they would be asked to leave. Don't get me wrong some of the girls are lovely but when you get the rude ones that makes them all look bad also you can never get through for appointments test results nothing it's disgraceful and when you eventually do get through u have approximately a month wait for tge next appointment. to be fair when it was run properly at the beginning it was fantastic now I'm afraid I am seriously considering moving to a practice were the staff are a bit more considerate and helpful and you can actually get an appointment within a couple of days not weeks later I can't book an appointment in advance if I don't know I'm going to be ill that is stupid
Lovely surgery, can be a bit of a wait for an appointment with a particular GP but if you're sick you'll see anyone! Always find the staff helpful and pleasant. I have been witness to the abuse the girls take at front reception. People should be mindful these girls are there to help them. Some patients have a sense of entitlement, in this day and age and given the state of the NHS, they should be glad of what they have available!
I rang on Monday morning to get a house call for my 93 year old mother...when I eventually got through I choose option 1 for emergencies & house calls...I was cut off 3 times...eventually got through after 40 minutes....A doctor who I shall not name did call with my mother & when we asked the doctor to feel mothers tummy the Doctor said she didn't have gloves but when we said we have lots here for carers she managed to find a pair...I asked if it was possible mother had an infection as she has been vomiting for 3 days (aside from her normal problems) the doctor said I can't tell as I have nothing to check her temperature with!!! I would have thought a Doctor's bag would always carry basics....what if this was a call to see a sick child.....This particular doctors care leaves a lot to be desired!!
My GP is fantastic and I have no issue with waiting for an appointment as he will always call if needs be. It is the receptionists who are rude, unhelpful and on occasion malicious. I suspect one in particular stopped a symptom control drug (for neuropathy) after complaining about her. There was no record of who or why it was stopped. The attitude of some of them make me nervous to call the surgery, which is a nightmare as I am seriously and chronically ill. I desperately want to leave the surgery because of them but am reluctant as my GP is great. These women have reduced me to tears on numerous occasions. Beware.
